Professor Beatty’s scholarship spans accounting, finance, and management, with articles published in The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Research, Contemporary Accounting Research, Accounting Horizons, Journal of Law & Economics, Journal of Financial Economics, Administrative Science Quarterly, andStrategic Management Journal. He has won or been nominated for teaching awards at USC Marshall School of Business, Southern Methodist University, the University of Chicago, the Wharton School, and the University of Illinois. In 1994, Business Week selected him as one of twelve Masters of the Classroom. Beatty has consulted for a variety of organizations providing expert witness testimony on bankruptcy prediction, valuation, and financial accounting issues. Beatty serves on the Advisory Board for the USC Caruso Catholic Center and the City of Hope Board. He is also the Chair of the City of Hope Medical Center Board.
